Thank God for online connections! I guess the internet has proper pros as much as there is exploitation on the other end. I stumbled on a post on LinkedIn, and I read it keenly; it moved me, and I believe soul-recognized soul. Well, we are here today. Her story moved me in a way beyond articulation. Eight years ago, Evelyn did something that made zero sense on paper–she left a stable job at the UN (yes, THE UN) to follow her husband to the Middle East. No backup plan. Coming from Africa, Evelyn was used to being surrounded by people who looked and spoke like her. But in the UAE, she found herself in spaces where representation was….scarce. (Trust me, I can relate and testify to that )

The enemy tried to whisper doubts: “Do you really belong here? Can you really compete at this level?”

But God whispered back: “I put you here on purpose. Now, walk in it.”

Now, she doesn’t just take up space—she owns the room. And when uncertainty creeps in, she prays—right at her desk, before meetings, and sometimes even during them. (Because who says boardrooms aren’t prayer rooms? Drop the mic!) 

Motherhood: A Crash Course In Understanding God’s Love

Incoming Boy Mom… Raising two boisterous boys has given Evelyn a whole new perspective on God’s love. Watching over them, guiding them, disciplining them (Lord, give me strength), and unconditionally loving them? That’s exactly what God does for us–on an ever greater scale.

Parenting isn’t about shaping her children–it’s also about how God is shaping her. She prays not just from them but for the wisdom to raise them in a way that honors God.

She’s also learned that just as she extends grace to her children when they stumble, God extends even greater grace to us. His patience, love, and correction are not signs of disappointment but of deep, unconditional love. Parenthood has become a daily reminder that God’s mercy is new every morning—not just for her children, but for her too.

A few years ago, a friend introduced Evelyn to a life-changing practice: choosing a word or scripture to anchor her year. And for her, it’s been Mark 11:23-24:

“ Truly, I tell you, if anyone says go up the mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”

Life throws challenges. Business has setbacks. Doubt creeps in. But she has learned that we have the authority to speak to the mountains in our lives and command them to move. And move, they will.

What Keeps Her Going? Faith, Purpose & People.

When things get tough, Evelyn leans on:
