I Just Turned ONE… Again 😅🎂

Celebrating one year of surrender to Jesus—marking one year of transformation, healing, and walking in divine purpose.
That's the real smile of a 1 year old LOL

My My... This coming Monday I am turning ONE.

Lol, you may be like huh? Stay with me. I’m turning 31 years old physically, but also 1 year old spiritually surrendered — since the day I vowed to God to lay down all my bad habits, my life, picked up the cross and followed Jesus for real . Like no games, all business. Well technically, it should be 2 years since I was reborn on August 2023 but true surrender only came an year later.

A year ago, on my 30th birthday, I had a full on Joseph moment (in the pit...minus the brothers throwing me in). I literally told God ,"This birthday weekend, I'mma indulge in my vices one last time--then after that I am all Yours."

Tell me that's not giving Viking energy. " I plead thee, Lord .... my life for battle!" SPARTAAA!!! And then... the real journey begun.

The School of Sons

Yo, the Lord did not waste time. He started to send destiny helpers, divine community, and invited me into what I now call the School of Sons in the spirit.

And His presence? Whew

Have you ever wept for 72 hours straight? Because I did.

Dehydrated. Puffy-eyed. Bags under my eyes that could pack for a weekend getaway.

It wasn't a breakdown. It was soul cleansing. Healing that peeled off trauma like wallpaper. It scarped pain from my very bones.

The First 30 Were... Ghetto 😅

Let's talk about the first 30 years. They were ghetto.

I was winging it. Hustling. Single Mothering. Trying to impress people I shouldn't have been trying to impress. Chasing the bag and the dopamine hit of "success" just to feel like I mattered.

Here's the problem:

Self isn't wrong. We are made in God's image and likeness. There is nothing wrong with having vision or drive. Question is, who's vision is it? Yours or God's.

A greater issue that we must highlight is when our strategy is outside God's strategy. That's how we end up:

  • Brokenhearted

  • Burnt out

  • Spiritually dead

  • And wondering why we’re anxious, confused, or identity-stripped

One year ago, I realized that surrendering to God isn't easy but it's worth it. And It's not the "universe" that got me, It's God. And no this isn't the "31 Things I've learned" type of blog (because honestly, I was surviving, not journaling). It was giving bumpy ride. But here are the 7 things I do remember, plus 2 bonus ones for free because I love ya'll:

  1. You are either All in or All out with Jesus

There's no middle. Being lukewarm feels "safe" until the enemy pulls up on you and trust me he doesn't play fair. If you don't want to be dragged out on a stretcher, pick a side. Be loyal to your choice. Hopefully you pick the lord's side for your sake and check those "commitment" issues outside the window.

  2. Standing out Hurts, But Stand Anyway

Being called out means being misunderstood.

You'll be a lily among the thorns. Some will be drawn to you ( because they sense the Holy Spirit). Others will throw shade because they just don't get it.

PSA: KEEP STANDING ON BUSINESS REGARDLESS

  3. No Covenant, No Courtship

Listen if you are not in covenant with God first, you've got no business looking for a mate. That "chege" I went through? All self inflicted. I literally opened the door and said," Please come in, Mr. Wrecking ball." Accountability is key.

Figure YOU out with God, so when the two become one, it's built on a solid foundation. Periodt.

  4. A Situationship or Co-Habiting Situation is Not a Marriage

And it won't magically become one.

If it does? Don't be surprised when the house crumbles with you inside.

Let it go. Let God. He knows your person is probably before you started calling your crush "bae "in high school or whenever it begun for you.

  5. Seasons Shift. Stay Flexible.

    God's Will requires movement.

    Jobs, friendships, even ministries--they shift.

Flexibility in the Kingdom isn't optional.

Rigidity more or less in so many words equates to disobedience.

And when God corrects you? It stings. It limps like Jacob. Trust me, I am still walking funny in the spirit.

  6. Detach from the Outcome

My life coach (for the 2 seconds I had one) once told me:

“Do not attach yourself to the outcome.”

Your value isn’t tied to whether:

--- That person likes you

--- That job works out

--- Or that ministry goes viral

Your identity is rooted in who God says you are: Fearfully, wonderfully, and

intentionally made. Full stop.

  1. April 7th — My Birthday 🎉

7 = Completion. Perfection. Divine intervention.

God doesn’t make mistakes.

So if you’re wondering, “Why am I here?”

Here’s the answer: To make impact. To bring light. To work the Harvest.

Bonus 1: Your Body is God’s Temple

Soul ties are real. Demons are real.

Stop playing on the streets unless you are street preaching.

Don't give what's sacred to what's counterfeit. Take care of your temple.

Bonus 2: Your Skills Are Meant to Serve

Vanity won't last.

The money, status, and trends die fast but legacy lives on.

Use your gifts , talents, and time to serve God. Eternity is long and hell ain't a vibe.

Final Word: God is Still Redeeming

You are not beyond deliverance.

You are not too dirty.

You are not too far gone.

Jesus Christ still redeems. He did it for me and He'll do it for you.

So if you want to give me a birthday gift? Let it be this:

Let your soul be saved.

(But if you're feeling extra generous, I wouldn't mind gifts too😌 lol.)

If this hit home and you’re feeling the nudge to build your life, vision, or business with God, go check out the Kingdom Builder Blueprint — a practical + spiritual guide to building from a place of rest, identity, and divine strategy.

If you’ve had your own “turning one” moment with God, I’d love to hear it and maybe even feature it!
