The Great Internal Exodus: Escaping the Babylonian System

Updated: Mar 6

Imagine this: you’re holding onto an old Nokia 3310 while everyone else is flexing the latest smartphone. You swear it still works (and let's be honest, it probably does), but deep down, you know it’s time to let go. That, my friends, is what many of us are doing spiritually—clinging to outdated systems, stubborn habits, and comfort zones that God has been asking us to leave behind for ages. Welcome to the Great Internal Exodus.

The Lord is dismantling the Babylonian system. You know, that flashy, oppressive structure where performance is king, burnout is celebrated, and spiritual dryness is the norm. The problem? His remnant—yes, that includes you and me—are still hanging around, sipping lattes in Babylon, wondering why life feels so exhausting.

God is unctioning (fancy word for nudging with holy urgency) us to flee these oppressive systems and step into His covenant of promise. Because here’s the hard truth: if we don’t leave, we risk being taken down with it.

I felt a deep sadness realizing how many are unaware of this shift. It’s not just a spiritual memo; it's a cosmic announcement. Countries like the United States, UAE, Greece, Rwanda—the signs are there if you look closely. This isn’t conspiracy theory territory; it's biblical prophecy playing out in real-time. There's a great wealth transfer happening, not the lottery-winning kind, but a divine redistribution tied to what you've sown in God's field. No dead works here, folks. It's about alignment with Kingdom purpose. Some are reaping judgment, while others are harvesting joy. The question is: where do you stand?

If you haven’t chosen a side yet, consider this your neon blinking sign. The clock isn’t just ticking; it's practically screaming. But fear not, this isn't about doom and gloom. It’s about a mind shift, a divine invitation to step into freedom. For those building and leading according to God's vision, you're no longer tethered to Babylon's performance treadmill. You’re part of the restoration covenant, thriving in rest and divine provision.

Think of this as a different kind of Exodus. Not just escaping Egypt (or your modern-day version of it), but leaving behind the mental, emotional, and spiritual Egypt within. God isn’t just relocating you physically; He’s redecorating your heart. Before He can pour new wine, He has to clear out the old wineskins. That means addressing the idols tucked away in your mind and soul—you know, those sneaky attachments to control, security, and self-reliance.

Ask yourself: Are you part of this mass exodus? Are you still calculating your retirement plan with anxiety, or have you declared, “God is my provider”? Are you hustling in the Babylonian grind, or are you building in His name with a spirit of rest?

It took the Israelites 40 years to fully exit Egypt, not because the desert was that vast, but because Egypt was deeply ingrained in their hearts. God had to prune, refine, and reshape them for the Promised Land.

Personally, this process has been like spiritual boot camp. I had to let God chip away at my rough edges, and let me tell you, holy sandpaper is no joke. But it’s necessary. The pruning isn’t punishment; it’s preparation. Yielding isn’t losing; it's aligning with the One who holds the blueprint.

Action Steps:

  1. Self-Check: Reflect on areas where you're still holding onto Babylonian mindsets. Is it fear, control, or the need for validation?

  2. Surrender: Daily surrender isn’t a one-time event. It's a lifestyle. Pray, “Lord, reveal what I need to release and give me the courage to let go.”

  3. Stay in the Word: The Bible isn’t just a book; it’s your GPS out of Babylon. Let it guide, convict, and comfort you.

  4. Join a Tribe: You don’t have to do this alone. Connect with like-minded believers who are also on this Exodus journey.
